Wilson Kerr is Founder and Principal Consultant for Location Based Strategy, LLC, providing professional services and strategic consulting for the LBS industry, with an emphasis on branded third party content licensing and advertising-related value-add.

Wilson has 10+ years experience in the Location Based Services space, having held positions in Business Development, Sales, and Digital Licensing Initiatives at Outdoor Intelligence, Fishing Hot Spots Maps and Tele Atlas North America.  Wilson has expertise in the areas of new product development, content aggregation and licensing, business development, and is knowledgeable in a broad range of navigation technologies (In-Car Nav, Personal Nav, and Wireless). Wilson has worked with top tier brands, content providers, device manufacturers, and application developers.

Directly prior to founding Location Based Strategy, LLC in November 2007, Wilson served as Business Development Director at Tele Atlas North America for 2.5 years.  Wilson was responsible for building and owning relationships with brand owners and third party content providers to fuel several landmark initiatives, including The Brand Icon Program and ContentLink, along with the licensing and subsequent productization of branded third party content for Tele Atlas products.  During Wilsons tenure in this position, his accomplishments include the successful rebuilding and repositioning of the Brand Icon Program (150+ brands licensed), the licensing of 25 content datasets for inclusion into the ContentLink Program, and the licensing and subsequent productization of Wcities and Zagat Survey content. (Note: All Tele Atlas programs described herein are public knowledge). Prior to holding this position, Wilson was VP Sales for Fishing Hot Spots Maps, where he managed the successful licensing of a proprietary FHS Map Geodatabase and online map server to Garmin, Lowrance, Magellan, Navionics, C-Map USA, Northport Systems, ESPNOutdoors, etc. 

Wilson is knowledgeable in LBS navigation device and application technologies and specifically has expertise in the monetisation of proprietary differentiating third party content and tracked, served location based advertising as a value-add proposition for LBS navigation companies. Wilson holds a Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Denison University.
